So why go reusable?

Consider these facts:
  • Bottled water costs between $1 and $4 a gallon, where 90% of the cost is plastic and paper (the bottle, cap and label).
  • A plastic water takes over 700 years to begin to degrade.
  • It takes a quarter bottle of oil to produce every plastic bottle.
  • Bottles are often made with PET or PETE (polyethylene terephthalate), which leach DEHA which is a carcinogen.
  • There is virtually no difference between most tap water and bottled water. Many water companies simply reprocess the water and bottle it under their brand name.
  • Studies show that tap water does not score less than bottled water in taste tests.
  • Americans generally spend more on bottled water than an i-Pod or movie tickets in a year.
To sum it up bottled water simply is not better than your tap water. Additionally, you are already paying for your tap water so why pay even more for water?
The logical choice seems pretty evident.- Buy a reusable water bottle and take back the tap
